In an effort to offset some of the costs associated with building and maintaining a successful high school band and color guard program, the Los Osos Band & Color Guard Booster Club offers several opportunities for students to earn money toward their expenses. The following is a list of ongoing fundraisers that we offer: Fundraiser: Contact Person:
Each student currently enrolled in the program is issued a “student account” within the booster club bank account, and can apply these funds toward the payment of band and color guard activities (i.e. trips) and also toward the purchase of band and color guard apparel (t-shirts, shoes, etc.). A listing of the current student account balances is posted (by student ID number for privacy) on the bulletin board located just outside the band office. The above mentioned fundraisers are designed specifically for students to raise funds for their individual student accounts. Other student account fundraisers may be offered throughout the course of the school year, and information on these activities is presented at the monthly booster club general meetings. In addition to the student-account fundraisers, occasional “general account” fundraisers are organized, which garner funds for the general operations and maintenance of the program. Although money from these general account fundraisers is not distributed to the individual student accounts, students and booster parents are still expected to actively participate in supporting them. These general account fundraisers are typically designed to raise funds toward the purchase of large-scale items and expensive musical instruments.
